Hello friends,

I hope you are staying safe. I’m excited to announce that my 8th book, Mary E. Walker: America’s Only Female Medal of Honor Recipient, is now available through most major book retail stores.

This book is a biography about the life of Dr. Mary Edwards Walker. During the American Civil War, she became the first female contract surgeon to serve in the United States Military, and she became the only lady to ever receive the Medal of Honor (America’s highest military award). After the war, she was a leading advocate for women’s rights and the rights of minorities in America & Europe.

Mary E. Walker Cover
Below is the premise of the book:

“In the history of America, only one woman has ever received the Medal of Honor: Dr. Mary Edwards Walker. However, Mary’s life was more than just a medal. Not only was Mary a leading suffragist, the first female surgeon to serve in the United States Army, and an advocate of women’s dress reform, she was a woman who put the lives of others before hers. She sacrificed her personal happiness, her comforts, and her reputation in order to fight for the ideals she believed in, both during and after her service in the American Civil War. Mary was a nonconformist in every way, refusing to bow down to society’s establishments. When society towered above her, demanding her to surrender, Mary planted herself like a tree and stood her ground. Mary’s life is a testament to the idea of selflessness. Today, many people around the globe stand on her shoulders.

This book is more than a simple biography of Mary’s life. Instead, this book seeks to understand the woman behind the medal. It seeks to discover the core of Mary’s being and the inspirations that turned her into who she was. People may know Dr. Walker. The question is: who was Mary?

Now Available The Heart of Aleppo: A Story of the Syrian Civil War

Hello friends!

I am honored and thrilled to announce that my newest novel, The Heart of Aleppo: A Story of the Syrian Civil War is now AVAILABLE. This story is set in the midst of 2012’s devastating Battle of Aleppo and shows the destruction of the war through the eyes of a 12-year-old protagonist who get separated from his family when the city is attacked.

It was an honor to write this novel. In an over-politicized world, my wish is for this work to humanize those we call “refugees”. Although the protagonist is fictitious, this novel accurately depicts the events that transpired in Aleppo during the summer of 2012. I hope that reading this will lead readers to have a greater understanding of the plight those in Syria face, as well as those in other war torn regions. This book is not about the politics of the Syrian Civil War or any other conflict. Its aim is not to convince readers to support any faction or political party. Instead, this story is about the unbreakable spirit of humanity. It is about how humanity’s strength often burns brightest during the darkest hours.

The book has received some amazing pre-release reviews and you can read some on the Goodreads site. The novel is available as an ebook and in print through Amazon. Thank you for your continued support!

Call for Submissions: Thriller Magazine

Hey everyone!

Anyone looking for a publishing opportunity should check out Thriller Magazine! They’re a new online magazine and are currently accepting submissions for their 2nd issue until October 15th! (I’m actually an editor for this publication too).

Here is the link to their site, where you can read more about them, including their full first issue: thrillermagazine.org.

They aim to publish a mix of established and new authors in each issue. One of the authors in their first issue has co-written novels with James Patterson and another has had over 100 works published (impressive)! Along with those heavy hitters, they also published some newer authors, so it’s a great opportunity for any aspiring/rising author!

Good luck!
